Light Celebration in Indian culture
Lights of India is a program of events promoting Indian culture in Italy.
Each year the festival features high-caliber Italian and international artists and the celebration of Indian festivity.
India and Italy are two cradles of civilization that have been cornerstones of aesthetics and philosophy for centuries. The intercultural dialogue between these two countries aims to contribute to spiritual research and growth through the study of yoga, music, dance and theater to enhance tradition through artistic innovation.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHT - DIWALI
The festival of Light Diwali in India symbolizes the victory of good over evil, of light over darkness, of knowledge over ignorance.
It celebrates the coming of Goddess Lakshmi the bringer of abundance, prosperity and riches both material and spiritual. To welcome her, rows of candles are lit all night long.
In India it is experienced as an occasion to celebrate life and strengthen ties with family, friends and colleagues.
In Italy, just a few weeks earlier, we celebrate the dead and the saints, a millennial holiday that also invites us to relate to life and death, light and shadow.
In a cross-cultural context and dialogue, we propose a time of reflection, reconnection and celebration to celebrate this important time of year together.
The most popular legend associated with the Diwali festival is about King Rama's return to the city of Ayodhya after 14 years of exile in the forest.
The people of the city, upon the king's return, lit rows (avali) of lamps (dipa) in his honor: hence the name Dipawali or simply Diwali.
Palazzo Caprioli during these days will be all illuminated.
There will be countless candles in the park and the 18th-century hall. A true spectacle not to be missed.
For the opening of the evening event, as is the Indian tradition, a Rangoli (Mandala) auspicious symbol will be made. Seminars on traditional Indian music, concerts and yoga classes will be held during the weekend.
“The sun, the moon, the stars, all the lights of the world can never match the light of Knowledge. Let us emerge from darkness and ignorance and realize, through meditation the eternal light of the soul” (taken from Sri Vidya)
On the occasion of this event we have the honor of hearing the renowned master Rakesh Chaurasia who will perform on the evening of Diwali in a concert of Indian classical music.
For all those who want to begin or deepen their study of the Bansuri Flute, the master will teach from November 14 to 17 at the Bansuri Retreat 2024- II ed.
